Chapter One

Why we exist

Before Katie ever wrote a treatment plan, she was writing lunch notes. For years, her whole world was raising three daughters — and if you ask her, it was the best clinical training she ever received. You learn to listen. You learn to notice. You learn that caring for someone means showing up for them every single day, not just when it's convenient. When she finally stepped into healthcare, she carried all of it with her. Nine years later, she's never set it down.

The moment that changed everything came during her nurse practitioner training. On a clinical rotation, she was paired with a physician assistant where patient after patient asked about a new class of medications called GLP-1s. Names like Ozempic and Mounjaro that most people couldn't pronounce yet. Katie could have just observed her hours and moved on. Instead, she went all in: nights spent buried in research, long conversations with healthcare reps, question after question for her supervising PA. And then she watched something remarkable happen. People who had fought their weight for decades, the ones who had tried everything and given up on everything, finally start winning.

But Katie didn't just study the medicine. She lived it. She started GLP-1 treatment herself and lost 40 pounds! She gained something no textbook could give her: she knew exactly how it felt to be on the other side of that prescription. The relief. The confidence. The joy of looking in the mirror and recognizing yourself again. Before she'd even finished NP school, the decision was already made. She was going to open a clinic to help people just like her.

While she saved every dollar she could to make it real, Katie worked in a women's health clinic, that's where the mission grew. Day after day, women sat across from her and told her the same story in different words: their hormones were wrecking how they felt, and nobody in healthcare cared. Dismissed. Brushed off. Told it was stress, or normal for their age. Katie listened and made herself a promise: her clinic wouldn't just help people lose weight. It would be a place where no one's struggle gets waved away.

In 2023, Hello Health opened its doors, if you could call it that. One small 8x8 room. One mission. Helping people reach their weight goals, one appointment at a time. That was the entire clinic. And honestly? We're proud it started that small because everything we've added since came from one place only: our patients' voices. Three treatment rooms now. Hormone therapy, because women asked to be heard. Peptides, hair restoration, skin treatments, and filler, because you kept telling us what you needed. That's the whole growth strategy, and it will never change: we listen, and then we bring real medical care to the people asking for it.
